Week 1

LightStanza QuickStart (Lighting 1 of 4) Syllabus 
[Target Audience: Lighting 
CAD and Revit]

This class covers the basics of using LightStanza for lighting design, starting with logging into the web app and navigating the user interface. Students will learn to create and edit models, including placing and manipulating a simple box model in both 2D and 3D views. The course also covers importing and placing lighting fixtures, running calculations, and comparing results. Additionally, students will practice tagging teammates for support and reviewing calculation history. The class includes several hands-on exercises to reinforce learning and ensure proficiency in using LightStanza’s tools and features.

Week 2

LightStanza Layouts and Revit QuickStart (Lighting 2 of 4) Syllabus 
[Target Audience: Lighting CAD and Revit]

In this training session, participants learn how to work with a background model in LightStanza. First you will upload an .lsd file (.dwg, .pdf, etc are also supported), assign IES files, and run calculations. The class covers fixture layout techniques, including arrays. Participants also explore placing calculation grids, setting targets, and managing levels. Additionally, they gain insights into reports, IES file editing, and LightStanza warning signs. . 

Week 3

LightStanza Intro to Revit Plugin (Lighting 3 of 4) Syllabus 
[Target Audience: Lighting Revit Users Only]

In the class, participants learn how to export Revit models to LightStanza, run calculations, assign IES files, and manage view templates. They will explore scoped calculations, sending points and schedules back to Revit, and accessing reports. It also discusses creating custom views, using section boxes, and optimizing lighting analysis.

Week 4

LightStanza Revit Linears, Syncing (Lighting 4 of 4) Syllabus 
[Target Audience: Lighting Revit Users Only]
Linear lighting setup in Revit, utilizing LS Revit Tools and LS Parameters. Learn to upload spaces with linear fixtures, confirm calculations, and edit fixtures. Introduces how to sync updates between Revit and LightStanza, including sending luminaire changes back to Revit. Additionally, participants explore indirect linear lighting scenarios and rendering techniques.
